Golden Anniversary Gala Honorees and Co-founders Roz Rosenthal and Evelyn Siegel

Thank You!

On Saturday, September 9, 2017, friends of Sixty & Better joined at The Fort Worth Club to celebrate 50 years of empowering the Young at Heart to live with purpose, independence, and dignity.

Generously presented by General Motors Financial, the golden milestone honored our co-founders Rosalyn G. Rosenthal and Evelyn Siegel for their vision, dedication, and immeasurable commitment to older adults living and thriving in Tarrant County.

We raised close to $120,000—our biggest fundraiser to date! Sixty & Better operates as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and depends on the generosity of the community to keep older adults active and engaged. All proceeds help fund daily meals and daily transportation, health and wellness programs, and other critical efforts in support of our mission.

Thank you to all of our sponsors, donors, special guests, partners, board members, volunteers, and staff for making the Sixty & Better Golden Anniversary Gala an incredible success!

We were humbled to have special guests attend, including Tarrant County Judge Hon. Glen Whitley, Tarrant County Commissioner Gary Fickes, Fort Worth City Council Members Gyna Bivens and Carlos Flores, Forest Hill Mayor Lyndia Thomas and Forest Hill City Council Member Clara Faulkner, and Azle City Manager Tom Muir. Former Senior Citizen Services Executive Director Jane Tecklenburg attended, as well as 44-year employee Alene Washington, director of Fellowship Corner activity center.

Tarrant County Judge Hon. Glen Whitley and Tarrant County Commissioner Gary Fickes also presented Sixty & Better with a proclamation commemorating the golden milestone.

Harpist Gonzalo Mata enchanted guests with elegant music as they perused Raffle Prize Packages and bid on Silent Auction arts and crafts made by Sixty & Better participants during the Reception Cocktail Hour. At the Gala dinner, Grammy-nominated artist Breggett Rideau serenaded guests with standards from the American Songbook.

All in all, it was a grand evening honoring two generous, genuine, and grand people. Thank you Rosalyn and Evelyn for your support!
